Virginia Nell Oliver

Virginia Nell Oliver left this earth peacefully to be with her Lord on October 27, 2020, at the age of 81 at her home in New Caney, Texas, surrounded by family.

She was born on September 25, 1939, in Vance, Alabama, to Luther Preston Bell, Jr. & Willie Inez Deerman Bell.   Her family moved to the Amory, Mississippi, area in 1953.  She married Bennie F. Oliver, Jr. on August 24, 1955.

She attended East Amory Baptist Church where she loved working with the young girls in her GMA class.  Her greatest joy was singing for her Lord in solos and in the church choir.

She was employed at Amory Garment Plant and then later at Black’s of Amory (Vinegar Bend & Van Atkins) from which she retired.

She moved to New Caney, Texas, in 1999 to be with her daughter and family.  She became a member of East River Baptist Church of New Caney where she faithfully attended until she could no longer do so due to physical infirmities.
 

She is preceded in death by her parents L. P. & Inez Bell, Agnes Shields and her youngest granddaughter, Hannah Elisabeth Hoots.

She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Oliver Hoots (Roger); six grandchildren, Crystal Nicole Gathercole (James), April Denice Hoots, Rebecca Ann Hoots, Isaac Nathanael “Nathan” Hoots, Rachel Virginia Barfield (Kenny);  6 great-grandchildren, Ethan Ray Gathercole, Brianna Denice Gathercole, Bronson Young Gathercole, Wyatt Preston Gathercole, Gavin Young Barfield and Quintin Young Barfield; two sisters, Barbara Thompson (Wayne), Joyce Finney (Frank); one brother, Ralph Bell (Peggy); former spouse, Bennie Oliver; nieces & nephews, Steve Thompson, David Thompson, Karen Rogers, Frank Carey Finney, Rosemary Davis, Curt Bell; and many great-nieces & nephews.

She will be missed greatly and fondly remembered for her loving kindness and sacrificial giving of herself to family and friends.

Her Memorial Service will be Saturday, Nov. 14, 2020, at 2:00 pm at East River Baptist Church, New Caney, Texas.

Christine Anne Roche, 73 was born November 8, 1946 in England.
She passed away on October 26, 2020 in Kingwood, Texas.
Christine is preceded in death by her parents, Frank McKay and Ethel Denton.

She is survived by her brothers, Terry McKay and wife Helen, Mike McKay and wife Patti, and Neal McKay and wife Joan. Three nephews.
 
Memorial service is Monday November 2, 2020 2:00 pm at Rios Funeral Directors.

Florence Virginis, 80 was born April 18, 1940 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She passed away on October 25, 2020 in Kingwood, Texas.

Florence is preceded in death by her husbands, Kenneth S. Sexton of 10 years of marriage and second husband, Gus Virginis of 6 years of marriage. Her parents, William Robert Lee and Cecilia Banda. Brother James Lee and sister, Christine Lee Odom.
She is survived by her sons; Scott Sexton, Jeff Sexton and Chris Virginis. Brothers; William Robert and John Turner. Sisters; Jesse Lee Clyburn and Ruby Lee Striker. Grandchildren; Scott Sexton, Timothy Sexton, Craig Sexton, Laura Sexton, and Nicholas Sexton. Great grandchildren; Henry Hoke, Samantha Sexton, Madison Sexton, Evan Sexton, and Desmond Sexton.

Private service will be held by her family.

He passed away on October 25, 2020 in Houston, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his father, Mauricio Solorzano.
Mauricio is survived by mother, Vilma Rosario Phillips and three sisters. 

Viewing will begin 11am to 1pm at Rios Funeral Directors followed by 2pm graveside service at Rosewood Memorial Park, Humble, Texas.

Jaxon Ray Newsom, 3, was born on October 24, 2017 in Kingwood, Texas. Our beautiful baby boy went to heaven on October 24, 2020 in New Caney,Texas. Always with a smile on his face, always happy, so many memories you left us to cherish.  God decided to take you to his side, and now you are our guardian angel.

Jaxon will be remembered with love and joy by his loving parents, Casey and Jessica. Sisters, Paisley and Novalee, grandparents, Brandon and Jamie Pinkston and Ronnie and Colleen Hoffart.

We will celebrate Jaxon’s life on Friday, October 30, 2020 at Rios Funeral Directors with visitation beginning 11am-1pm.

Service will begin at 1pm. In procession we will take Jaxon to his resting place to Rosewood Memorial Park, Humble, Texas.
