Stephen Randolph “Randy” Songer, 77, passed away on December 9, 2025 in The Woodlands, Texas. He was born on May 31, 1948, in Bremerton, Washington, to Beverly J. Somes and John H. “Bud” Songer.

Randy grew up surrounded by a close-knit family and was the beloved brother of Cameron L. Mandeville, Bradley W. Mandeville, Gregory C. Songer, and Deborah G. Mandeville. He graduated from Oxnard High School in Oxnard, California, in June 1966.

In June 1967, Randy proudly enlisted in the United States Army, beginning a dedicated military career that spanned nearly a decade. He honorably served until August 1976, completing tours at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama; Sukiran, Okinawa Prefecture, Japan; Pyongtaek, South Korea; and Fort Bliss, Texas. His years in uniform reflected his strong sense of duty, commitment, and patriotism.

Randy built a life filled with love, family, and quiet strength. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia J. McDonald, and his children: Margo Songer, Summer De Bello, Amber Smith, Stephen R. Songer, and Michael Smith. He was a proud grandfather to eight grandchildren and a great-grandfather to eleven precious great-grandchildren.

Randy will be remembered for his loyalty, resilience, and the deep love he held for his family. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched.
