Ronald Jay Blackerby, 79, was born December 15, 1942, in Plainview, Texas. He passed away on Wednesday August 31, 2022, in Kingwood, Texas. He is preceded in death by his wife Marilyn Blackerby, his father Walter Herbert Blackerby, his mother Annie Elizabeth Wright Blackerby, and his sister Ann Whitmire.  

 

Ronnie pastored his first church in Floydada, TX in 1985 with the Pentecostal Church of God Organization, with his loving and supportive wife Marilyn by his side. He pastored a few churches in Texas before moving to New Mexico to pursue their calling to serve God in Indian Missions. They eventually settled in New Caney, TX where they pastored their final church in Cleveland, TX before retiring from the ministry and joining Souls Harbor Church. Ronnie and Marilyn worked side by side as barbers at the 494 Barber Shop which they owned for several years.

 

Ronnie is survived by his children; Jada Depenbrock (husband Rod), Ron Blackerby (wife Traci), Sheley Clifton (husband David), Lynn Blackerby, Eugenia McFarland, Dawn Vanden Hul (husband Eric), David Winchell, Debra Straker (fiancé Ronnie Ramirez), Dennis Winchell (wife Corina). Also surviving to cherish his memories are his twenty-six grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
