Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Turnball Paine and Fern G. Hadley.

Robert is survived by his wife of 28 years, Evelyn Paine, his sons; John Michael Paine, Samuel Charles Paine & wife Tiffani, his daughter; Adrienne Buckingham & husband Art, his brother; Tom Paine, and his 5 grandchildren; Sarah Paine, Alexandria Paine, Lily Gaylor, Zac Gaylor and Isaac Michael Paine.

Robert Paine was a man of the woods,A man who belonged beneath wide-open skies,Where the rivers ran cold, the mountains stood tall,And the pines whispered stories through the Washington and Idaho hills.Though he became a lawyer,His heart was never found behind a desk.It lived in the forests,Among the sawmills and logging roads,Where hard work was measured in sweat, strength, and character. He loved the quiet of a fishing line cast at dawn,The anticipation of a hunt before sunrise,And the simple peace that comes from being outdoors,Surrounded by God’s creation. He taught more than words ever could.Through his life, he showed what it meantTo work hard, stand tall, and keep moving forward. His lessons were found in the way he lived,Not just in the things he said. Now the forests he loved seem a little quieter,The rivers a little stiller,And those who loved him carry a space in their heartsThat can never truly be filled.Yet Robert’s story does not end here.It lives on in every memory shared,Every fish caught, every trail walked,And every sunrise over the mountains he called home.Though we grieve his passing,We are grateful for the gift of having known him,For the love he gave,And for the legacy he leaves behind.Rest peacefully, Robert Paine. The mountains are yours forever now,The rivers run endlessly before you,And the love of your family follows you always
