Omar Rodriguez, 16, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, October 10, 2021 in a single car accident.  He was born to Angelica Maria Bazaldua and Gregorio Rodriguez Hernandez in Houston, Texas on January 30, 2005.  He was a caring, loyal friend.  He was never too busy to stop and listen when his friends needed someone to talk to. His smile was genuine and infectious.  He would light up a room with his big personality and great smile.  He was very protective of his family, especially his sisters and mom.

Omar was respectful of the people around him.  He was always quick to hold a door or say, “yes mam” and “yes sir”.  He was a hard worker and tried his best to help relieve the burden of chores around the house for his mom.

Omar loved to go mudding.  He was an avid hunter and loved to fish.  He was always joking around with his family and friends.  He had fun horsing around with the family as he practiced his roping skills.  He hoped to one day join a roping team and compete at rodeos.  He loved fiercely and lived fully.  He was a blessing to each and every person who crossed his path.

He is survived by his parents, Angelica Maria Bazaldua and Gregorio Rodriguez Hernandez of Shiro; his brother Luis Alberto Rodriguez; his sisters Nancy Valeria Rodriguez and Elizabeth Rodriguez; Grandmother Candelaria Gaucin Bazaldua and God Parents Guillermo and Rosa Vallecillo.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 19, 2021 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Anderson Baptist Church, 379 South Main Anderson, Texas 77830.  The funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at 11am also at Anderson Baptist Church in Anderson followed by the interment at Shiro Cemetery in Shiro Texas.  The family would like to invite everyone to join them back at Anderson Baptist Church for a meal after the internment.

All ways respectful and very willing to help in any way. He was a good guy!! He loves my little girl and for that I will always remember him. Hate that this happened to such a good young man with such potential.
