Mary Folsom Gaines, 73, went to be with The Lord on May 12, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.
She was born on June 15, 1951, to Samuel Paul Folsom and Anna Marie Ferrugia of Houston, Texas. Mary was a woman of faith, strength, and deep compassion for others. She was known for her unwavering love for her family and friends. She was the heart and anchor of those closest to her.
Mary was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Her home was always a place where everyone was welcomed. It was filled with the scent of home-cooked meals and the sound of laughter. She had a gift for bringing people together, as events were always held at her house, whether it was family holidays, weekly domino nights, baby or bridal showers, birthdays or church small groups. Her joy overflowed when her home was filled with those she loved.
She is preceded in death by her parents Samuel and Anna Folsom, husband Lewis Gaines Jr., and sister Diana Robinson. She is survived by her daughters; Kelly Corliss and husband Jeff, Cindy Grant and husband Tim, Kelly Vergamini, sons; Jamie Mullikin, Clayton Gaines, grandsons; Jake Holden and wife Caitlin, Corey Holden and wife Stormey, Mason Holden and fiancé Kyleigh Garcia, Tyler Decker, Jackson Gaines, granddaughter Madison Gaines, great grandchildren Judd Holden, Collins Holden, Cannen Holden and Jack Holden, sister Judy Bozeman and husband James, brother Bill Folsom and wife Carol, brother-in-law Doug Robinson and sister-in-law- Carolyn Gaines, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary’s legacy lives on in the kindness she shared, the values she instilled, and the countless lives she enriched through her powerful presence. Mary always saw the good in others and never met a stranger, she will always be remembered for her big heart. She lived a remarkable life and will be severely missed, and even though her journey on this side of eternity has ended, a new and bright one has begun.
