With hearts full of love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of Marylou Bogert, who peacefully went to be with the Lord on May 15, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on August 17, 1936, in Waupaca, Wisconsin, to Willard Alger Court and Evelyn Mary Paschal, Marylou embraced life with unwavering faith, deep devotion to her family, and a profound love for God’s creatures.
Growing up on the farms her father managed, Marylou forged an unbreakable bond with animals—a connection that remained central to her life. Her first horse, Beauty, a striking tri-paint, ignited her lifelong passion for horses. Her gentle spirit and innate kindness extended to all living beings, including her devoted companion, Chico, a cockatoo whose joyful presence brightened the lives of all who knew them.
Marylou’s Christian faith was her guiding light, shaping the way she lived and loved. Her presence brought warmth and wisdom, and she believed deeply that her purpose was to meet people, understand their stories, and share in the beauty of human connection. Her adventurous nature was boundless—there was no road she did not wonder where it led. From cross-country travels to international explorations, she embraced life with curiosity, humor, and a fearless sense of independence.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 48 years, John E. Bogert, as well as her three cherished grandchildren, Tyler, Liam, and Madigan. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her children: Mark Bogert and his wife Elisa of Castle Rock, Colorado; John W. Bogert and his wife Linda of Kingwood, Texas; and Kelli L. Murphy of Denver, Colorado. Her four treasured grandchildren—Lauryn, Allison, Aaron, and Benjamin—will carry forward her spirit of kindness and adventure.
Marylou’s presence enriched the lives of all who knew her. She will be profoundly missed and forever remembered.
