Linda Gail Saxon-Edwards from New Caney, Texas passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side. Linda was unable to defeat a very aggressive form of cancer that took her from her family and friends within a few months.

Linda was 72 and passed away on Wednesday July 15, 2020. Linda was born on August 17, 1947 in Houston, Texas to George Franklin Saxon and Doris Ella Mae Strong. She lived almost all of her life within the Houston area, but also resided in Oregon, where her Mother lived.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Danny Everett Saxon; her son David Franklin Dowthitt; the Father of her children Dennis Thurl Dowthitt; and a spouse Vincente Souzano Garcia, Sr.

Linda was a stay-at-home mom most of her life, until her children set out on their roads of life. Linda had one thing she enjoyed the most and that was taking a trip to a casino. She loved her trips to Las Vegas and the Coushatta in Louisiana.

Linda is survived by her sons Donnie Lee Dowthitt of New Caney; and Delton Thurl Dowthitt; her daughters Donna Marie Dowthitt-Beeson (Daniel) of New Caney, Texas; Darla Sue Dowthitt; her step-son Vince S. Garcia, Jr. of Grand Junction, Colorado; her brother George Clifton Saxon of Oregon; her sister Ruby Diane Saxon-Ciarlante of Oregon; special acknowledgement to Robyn Denise Shepherd; Ryan Lee Stavinoha, Randy Scott Stavinoha, and Rebecca Jane Stavinoha; as well as her fur son Little One aka Skunk the Chihuahua!

Funeral arrangements will be provided by Rios Funeral Directors, 21036 Loop 494, New Caney, Texas in association with Joel Zepeda of Brookside Memorial Park and Funeral Home.
Interment will be conducted at Brookside Memorial Park Friday July 31, 2020 at 10:00am.
