Justin Raymond Wright, a veteran of the Iraqi Freedom War and longtime resident of Porter, passed away on Monday, April 8, 2024, surrounded by family. Justin was born October 3, 1979, to Donna Daily and David Wright and attended Livingstones Christian Academy before enlisting in the Marine Corps. Justin enlisted in 2000 and was honorably discharged in 2004, earning the rank of Sergeant after serving 14 months in Iraq.
The Marine Corps recognized Justin for his honorable service with multiple awards – Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Combat Action Ribbon (Iraq), Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, Rifle Qualification (Expert 4th Award), Pistol Qualification Badge (Marksman).Justin didn't speak much about his time in service, but he was a very proud Marine.
After the war, Justin returned home and married his wife Ashley in 2006, and together they built a beautiful life and raised their daughter Leslie Anne. Justin and Ashley started attending Porter Apostolic Pentecostal Church in 2018. Justin was baptized in January of 2019, received the Holy Ghost in March of 2019, and he faithfully served God from that point forward. In his spare time, Justin loved building computers and also enjoyed playing video games.
Justin was proceeded in death by his mother Donna Daily, and his brother Bryan Wright.
Justin is survived by his wife Ashley Leneé, of 18 years of marriage, daughter Leslie Anne Faye Cugal, his father David Wright, stepmother Gail Wright, his brother John Wright, sister René Bentsen, and grandchildren Ava Rose Cugal and Jameson Daniel Cugal.
