Francisco was a loving, hardworking man of character & compassion- quick with a smile and always ready to share a laugh.
Born on July 3, 1958 in Santa Cruz de Juventino Rosas, Guanajuato, Mexico, Francisco died unexpectedly on November 19. He is preceded by his parents Timoteo Tierrablanca and Juana López.
Francisco immigrated to the United States in 1977 And began working in Houston, Texas. He married Maria Martinez in 1979. They had three children; Yvonne T. Zermeno (husband Saul), Elizabeth Tierrablanca (husband Martin) and Francisco Tierrablanca (wife Jessica). He had 9 grandkids Francisco had one brother, Romauldo Tierrablanca and five Sisters: Deogracia Tierrablanca, Amparo Lopez, Theresa Tierrablanca, Remedios Tierrablanca, and Vernarda Tierrablanca.
After early work in agriculture (decades later he still couldn’t stand the smell of onions!) and construction, Francisco settled in Houston. He found career work in manufacturing, initially at a tortilla factory and later in plastic processing as shop manager of Alpha Plastics.
Francisco joined Drake Plastics in 1999/ 2000. He was instrumental in developing the extrusion technology which remains the heart of the business today. In recognition of his contributions and achievements, Francisco was promoted to be the company’s first vice president in 2010 “VP” also a fit abbreviation to describe.
Francisco: ‘very positive’, ‘very patient’ and ‘very passionate’. He was a respected leader, technologist and manager; intelligent, insightful and wise. Nothing was impossible and “no” was not in his vocabulary.
Francisco mourned for many years after Maria passed unexpectedly in 2012. A loving and kind Isabel Magaña Hernandez finally broke through the somber period and Francisco found love again. Francisco and Isabel were married in 2017 in Torreón, MX.
Their time and the time of all of Francisco’s family, friends and co-workers was cut short by the tragic accident on Sunday, Nov 19, 2023. Francisco and Isabel were on their way home from a family hunting trip.
He lived life well and the world is mourning his loss.
Let’s honor Francisco’s legacy and strive to live by his example.
