Fernando Avalos Jr

Fernando Avalos Jr., 62, passed away on March 29, 2026, in New Braunfels, Texas after years of health complications. Juniors’ family was able to be by his side as he passed away peacefully. He is survived by his beloved wife of 23 years, Juliana Avalos; sons: Richard Avalos (Julie Slaughter) and Joshua Pegoda (Shauna); daughter, TexAnna Hogan (Bryon); two sisters, Virginia “Gina” Avalos, Yvette Avalos Torres (Jose); four grandchildren, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Bugga, affectionately called by family, was a man that enjoyed the simple life of fishing, martial arts and rooting on his Dallas Cowboys. Junior was tough, resilient, and stubborn at times, but his big heart, contagious laugh and smile that brightened any room made an impression on those he crossed paths with.

The family would like to give everyone the opportunity to pay their final respects on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 from 6-8pm with a rosary being recited at 6:30pm at Rios Funeral Home- New Caney.
