Emma Gorgod Untalan

Emma Gorgod Untalan 94 passed away peacefully on November 4, 2025, in Porter, Texas. She was a kind and compassionate soul who spent her life touching the hearts of those around her. Emma attended a Catholic convent where she lived during high school, and she later pursued studies in business commerce in college. She was a gifted writer—eloquent, humorous, and truly the life of every gathering.

Emma was a talented cook and baker, always eager to create delicious meals for her family and friends. She found great joy in being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, cherishing her family above all. An active member of her neighborhood prayer group, Emma was a devout Catholic who dedicated much of her life to prayer—often praying for others' wellbeing rather than herself. She regularly went to confession and embraced her faith with sincerity.

Throughout her life, Emma overcame many health challenges with strength and resilience. Her courage, kindness, and supportive nature made her beloved by all who knew her. Family and friends often turned to her for comfort and prayer.

A lover of reading, Emma was a true bookworm who enjoyed immersing herself in novels and constantly sought to reinvent herself. She also tried yoga at one point, always open to new experiences.

Everyone who met Emma was drawn to her warmth and charm. She generously opened her doors to anyone in need, especially young people, offering guidance and support as they navigated life.

Emma’s love for her family was profound, and she prayed tirelessly for their safety and happiness. Her spirit and kindness leave an indelible mark on all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed.

Emma is preceded by her husband Roberto Untalan Jr. of 58 years of marriage, son Roberto Untalan III, parents Modesto "Bompa"  Gorgod & Crestita "Bomma"  Napoco Gorgod, brothers Rudolfo Gorgod, Romeo Gorgod, and sisters Nenita Gorgod, Remedios Gorgod Navarro, and Leticia Victoria.

Emma is survived by her daughter Mylene Covington Santamaria & spouse Frankie, grandchildren Michael Covington & spouse Meghan, Jacqueline Sims & spouse Ryan, Harrison Covington & spouse Carly, David Covington, Christina Santamaria, and great grandchildren Brayden  Michael Covington, Connor Patrick Covington, Trevor Thomas Covington, Natalie Catherine Covington, and Carly Renae C. Sims.
