Christy Renee Newton

Christy Rene Rogers Newton, 58, passed away on December 29, 2025, in Splendora, TX, leaving behind a lifetime of stories, laughter, and love that will continue to echo through everyone who knew her.

Born on October 13, 1967, in Houston, TX, Christy lived a life marked by kindness, humor, generosity, and resilience. She had a unique way of making people feel welcome and loved, and her presence could light up a room.

Christy was best known for helping anyone in need, her legendary cooking, and her devotion to her family.

Family was at the heart of Christy’s life. She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Grant Newton; children Tessa Graham McMorrow and James, Jessy Rogers, Brittany Newton Stewart and Johnathon, Chris Newton, and Jennifer Newton; grandchildren Gabriel Trevino, Lyric Villanova, and Hallien Stewart; her loving mother, Laura Moody; siblings Lisa Guelker, Angela Gallagher, Steve Banano, and Dana Vavra; as well as many nieces, nephews, and countless friends who were treated like family.

Christy was preceded in death by her son Cody Rogers and her grandson Bombay Cox.

Above all, Christy taught us how to love fully, laugh often, show up, stay late, and be generous. Her legacy lives on in the memories we share, the stories we retell, and the love she gave so freely.

This will be a potluck celebration—please bring your favorite dish.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meridian Hospice at 936-323-7342. They took wonderful care of Christy through this short fight.

Christy’s life was a gift—and how lucky we were to receive it.
