Cecil L Bennett

Cecil L. Bennett (89) was born on February 11, 1937, in Dry Ridge, Kentucky and passed away peacefully at his home in Roman Forest, Texas on September 23, 2026. He married JoAnn Niemen on September 24, 1960, in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky and had three sons. He was a veteran of the US Army and a big sports fan, particularly of Kentucky Wildcat basketball. He spent many years coaching his sons and countless others on baseball fields from Kentucky to Texas. For himself, he enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and golf, while continuing to work in his woodshop until his passing.

Cecil is preceded in death by his parents; Adrian “AG” & Mildred Bennett and his grandson, Jarrett Bennett. He is survived by his dear wife JoAnn Bennett of 66 years, his sons; Scott Bennett & wife Stephanie, Kevin Bennett & wife Michelle, Rick Bennett & wife Kristy, his brother; Charles Bennett, his grandchildren; Scott Bennett Jr., Sarah Phillips & husband Walter, Laura Bennett, Melanie and Madison McVay, and his great-grandchildren; Abigail and Bennett Phillips.

The family has chosen to have a private family gathering and asks that anyone wishing to recognize Cecil to please consider donating to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in lieu of flowers. Cecil will be forever missed by all who knew and loved him.
