Betty Ann Montgomery

After a long goodbye with Alzheimer’s disease, Betty Ann Montgomery, a beloved mother and grandmother, was born on May 26, 1941 in Fort Bragg, North Carolina passed away peacefully on the evening of Sunday, September 20, 2026, in New Caney, Texas at the age of 85. She is preceded in death by her parents Willis V. & Julia E. Davis.

Betty is survived by her son Joseph William Kemp & wife Gayla Kemp, daughter Brenda Kemp Reeder, brothers James Davis of Florida, Ricky Davis of Columbus, Georgia, grandchildren Jennifer McCoy, Sarah Reeder, Rachel Kemp, and great-grandchildren Peyton McCoy and Evangeline McCoy.

It was a precious and deeply meaningful moment to have four generations of her family present to witness her passing. Surrounded by those she loved, she left this life knowing she was cherished.

She had many passions throughout her life, including cooking, sewing, and photography. She loved sharing her talents with others, and through these gifts she created countless memories for the people around her.

After retiring from JCPenney in Tampa, Florida, where she served as an assistant store manager, she looked back on a long and memorable career in retail. During her career, she worked as a buyer and had the unique opportunity to host celebrities at JCPenney fragrance launches. She proudly stood alongside such well-known personalities as Pricilla Presley, Gloria Vanderbilt, and Kenny Rogers.

After retirement, she moved to Oklahoma, where she treasured spending time with her immediate family. Despite facing numerous challenges throughout her life, she never wavered in her love for her family or her determination to live life fully.

The memories she leaves behind are many and deeply treasured. Her love, generosity, creativity, and devotion to her family will live on through the generations she loved so dearly.

She will be missed beyond words, but her legacy of love will remain in our hearts forever.
