Aselia Maria D. Gamez

Aselia Maria D. Gamez, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at home on March 20, 2023, in New Caney, Texas. She was born on October 21, 1956, in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. She is preceded in death by her parents Isabel Jose Gamez and Trinidad Jasso Sanchez, brothers Lucio, Jose, Benito, and Mateo Gamez, and sister Eilda Gamez.

Aselia Maria is survived by her sons Robert Davis & wife Heather and Ray Preciado & wife Erica, daughters Ava Gamez, Elizabeth Klein & husband Mark, Miriam Duke & husband Walter, and Krystal Preciado, brothers Ruben Gamez & wife Alicia and Juan Gamez, sister Maria Perez, grandchildren; Elisha and husband Joaquin Sr., Carter, Logan, Marisa, Avery, Preston, Cameron, Sarah, Cade, Dominic, Mateo, Carson, Colson, Cayson, great grandchildren; Joaquin Jr., Ryliegh, Olivia, Colt, Westyn and numerous nieces and nephew. A special Thank you to her clients who were her extended family and whom she loved dearly.

Aselia was known for her charismatic and youthful energy. She loved cooking and entertaining for everyone, including stray animals that showed up on her doorstep. She always had a bowl of freshly made Mexican salsa or, if we were lucky, perfectly made tamales. She was the queen of marathon dishwashing during family events but didn’t miss a chance to be silly with the grandkids. Drive by her home, and more often than not, you would see her out in the yard tending to her roses, plants – or ducks, chickens, turkeys and whatever wandered by.  She was small but mighty. She will forever be in our hearts.
