Jonathan Michael Gantt, 48, was born on January 8, 1972, to Ronnie Edward Baker and Martha Joan Gantt Baker in Houston, Texas. He passed away peacefully in his home on November 12, 2020, in New Caney, Texas.
From the day he was born, Jonny never met a stranger and as he grew older was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand.  He had such a huge, generous heart, and would have given anyone in need the shirt off his back. His life motto for decades has been “Don’t Worry, Be Happy!” and he did his best to live that, even through the Life Challenges we all face at one time or another.
Jonny had so many talents which he developed throughout his lifetime, that sadly was cut all too short.  He was artistic, creative, a fabulous cook who loved entertaining a crowd of friends and neighbors, flooring installation, photography, and general handyman work, in addition to others too numerous to list.
His favorite job was installing floor tile and wood flooring, especially when he was allowed to incorporate his design and creativity talents to make each installation an absolute “one of a kind” for the homeowner.  His 2nd favorite job was as a Pipeline Inspector all over the country.  This career path allowed him to hone his special abilities to obtain just the perfect photography picture.  As a result, he left us with many incredible photos covering many U.S. locations over the years.
Jonny dearly loved his kids, his girlfriend Julie, his 2 pit bulls and all Ford trucks, especially “his” personal truck.  He and Julie had nearly 13 years together and they each complemented each other so well with their combined sets of talents and skills.
Jonny is survived by his Beloved Significant Other Julie Ancel; Sons Donovan Gantt and wife Brittany; Broderick Gantt Wiebe and Daughters Aizlyn Gantt DuBose and husband Darrell (Skeeter); Dawnelle Gantt Wiebe and Zara Gantt Wiebe; brother Jim Gantt; and Mother, Martha (Marti) Russell, along with numerous other relatives.
Jonny was pre-deceased by his grandparents, his father Ronnie Baker and Step-mom Shirley, and his Step-Dad Cpt Richard (Dick) T Russell.
Jonny, RIP; every one of us is devastated over losing you, but you’ll always be in our hearts and minds - you were taken way too soon…  We all miss you terribly, but look forward to seeing you again one day when our time comes.
A small private service will be held by the family on a future date TBD.
